AVPM® provides 100 percent revenue control for valet at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego

San Diego, August 2008 – The new Hard Rock Hotel San Diego can count on a steady flow of guests 24 hours a day - and valet is the only way to park. The hotel, with its 420 guestrooms, including 244 studio rooms, 159 Hard Rock Suites and 17 Rock Star Suites in addition to 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space, needed a system that could monitor overnight valet parking and provide 100 percent revenue control.

Automated Valet was called on to address the situation with a customized solution. It integrated its product AVPM®, with the hotels’ Micros Hotel Management System to track and post valet parking fees day and night. With AVPM®, parking fees are charged automatically whether the customers arrive at 3 pm or 3 am. The system downloads guests’ arrivals and valet fees, reports the information to the hotel database and valet charges are applied directly to their bills along with room charges and other amenities.

ACE Parking Management operates the valet site. Its employees were trained on the system in one day and since installation, AVPM® has provided 100 percent up time and 24/7 customer service. Ace Parking Management operates valet for the hotel. Ace Executive Vice President – Hotel Divisions Mike Tweeten says AVPM®’s automated features have limited the amount of labor it takes to track and charge customers. Automated Valet successfully bridged its product with Micros’ system and the result has improved valet operations, Tweeten said.
